TV Screen too shiny...suggestions?

Post by longtrip68 » Fri Jan 16, 2015 6:38 am

Hello all,

This is just a quick Preliminary render using a generic Sky Probe for lighting, but as you can see the screen on the Plasma TV seems way too shiny. I applied a Sketchup translucent material, then applied a TL Arch Glass Common template.

Is there a way to make it less shiny like a real TV that has anti-glare properties on the screen?

Thanks!

If you apply Template 1 to a material, then apply Template 2, the Template 2 material will completely override the properties of Template 1.

I would simply apply Template>Paint>Flat Enamel to a 30% dark gray color surface. Or try the Plastic>Shiny Template and then adjust the Shininess and IOR until you get the effect you desire. For the shiny plastic frame, an 18%-20% dark gray with Template>Plastic>Shiny. Simple. Fast. Done.
