Help ! cant make frosted perspex

Made an object and it needs to look like white frosted acrylic. Everything I am trying doesn't work if i use frosted glass templates with colour set to white I get a very dark grey looking texture not white, any other transparency settings I am trying show clear but I need a frosted look so essentially what is seen through the acrylic sheet is blurred.
