please post screenshot of environment settings.
You will want to use a portal if you are trying to get the light from outside into this small window.

download and try exploring this scene:

I will look at that again later. As I suspected, I had neglected to adjust sunlight levels, I was awake, honest.

In this render the light artedact is reduced and closer but still too much. Sunlight is .5%.

The portal seems to have done nothing much, there is an issue with light through a window, I know not what.

I have to see the file to diagnose the problem.

Again, just curious (when am I not  ), could it possibly be a reversed face issue?

I think, that the reduction in appreance suggests within reasonable doubt, that the sun illumination is the issue. Switching off this sun illumination would prove it. I also think this is unworthy of further diagnosis because one more render will do enough. I am pretty sure you already have enough on your plate and this came from tinkering. Not a serious attempt. I am still looking at a new pc but will be more serious when I have the jhorsepower to run with it a bit more. I am running with 2gig free ram lately so that could also be an issue so I will go at this another time or with another pc, whatever.

Chaps. :hat:

PS, reverse face, nah, checked that one.
