LiDAR scanning
Re: LiDAR scanning
NeRF is coming
Re: LiDAR scanning
Fletch, this looks really exciting. Do you have a web site for this (I tried to search for it and could not find it)? Will this have any effect/connection with Twilight Render?
Edit OK, I found it! It is part of the Nvidia web site and can be found here: Nvidia Instant-nerf however, I have one additional question: does it compile only videos or can it also produce AI/VR files that can be viewed online?

Re: LiDAR scanning
Yes, it's an NVIDIA project. I have not researched it very much. But it looks promising for scanning objects to 3D models with your phone in seconds. It appears to still be in experimental stages, probably another year of development we will see the fruits of NVIDIA's labors.ntxdave wrote: ↑Wed Nov 09, 2022 5:09 pm Fletch, this looks really exciting. Re: LiDAR scanning
A tip for everyone,
If you want to scan an asset for rendering, try to scan in the most evenly lit environment you can find. The best place to scan is somewhere outdoors on an extremely overcast day and, if you can, white floor. Any existing environmental light will be baked into your model.
Have fun scanning!
