is it possible to create oval shaped spotlights, will I have to find a IES file that produces that cast of light?

There's a program you can use to create your own IES easily - which will create any shape of light you like (I believe... never actually used it myself, though I installed it.)

It's GE Light Beam or something... sorry, can't find the link for it right now

read this Kerkythea forum thread - it's got more than you want to know about IES, and great links

Also check out the "Freebies" section of this forum for a link to a diff. IES Editor than the GE one...
