Help! How to render Sections
Re: Help! How to render Sections
You mean a section cut?
Section cuts are accomplished in SU through graphics "trickery". They aren't actually part of the SketchUp model.
Twilight, currently, does not render section cuts. However, Twilight will render section cuts in a future release.

Re: Help! How to render Sections
Have you tried Zorro2? It will actually cut the section for you... be sure the SketchUp Section Cut is NOT inside of a component, and it will cut the whole thing for you...

Hi Chris,Chris wrote:...Twilight will render section cuts in a future release.
This is good news!
However, will it render them in a way that they block light as well (since in a closed building, there should not get light in as much as through a section cut) or will it be just like now using Zorro?

Re: Help! How to render Sections
It will be a full cut, like Zoro (though not actually cutting the geometry in SU). It would be interesting if it could "pretend" the geometry was still there, for shadows and reflections, etc, but the render engine doesn't support that kind of thing.
Re: Help! How to render Sections
Okay, good to know anyway. Thanks for the reply (maybe tuning soft shadows up a bit will eliminate or even lessen too sharp and obvious shadow effects).
