Post by Zacchia » Tue Nov 24, 2009 8:18 am

Hi
I hate this in SU: When minimize then toolbars are not at the same place, this is OK but when i maximize again then they will not go back and i hate it to do it manually. See pictures. Can i chance it?

Unfortunately this is a well known issue with SU... :|
:!: Please note that this issue doesn't only affect TWR, but all additional plug-ins and even the native SU toolbars...

If I remember correct, some issues have been fixed with SU ver. 7.1...
I suggest that you make a search at the SCF...
Try the how to organise toolbars or the google living off the backs of the bruised? threads... ;)
Cheers

Yes, I too wish SketchUp would fix this ... seems like a rather simple thing to fix IMHO...   sometimes I can not roll my eyes loud enough.

I kinda fixed it by putting the smallest toolbars nearest to the upper left corner, and leaving the largest ones farthest from that point. This gives me some leeway to resize the SU window without causing toolbar mayhem.

Ah yes the dreaded toolbar issue. As stated above, it seems like such an easy fix.
I mean GSU can create Dynamic Components but fail to fix this... boo - hiss. Image

I just keep a screen shot of my most recent setup on hand so when I add a new plugin or accidentally minimize I have a reference for placing them back in the desired position. An odd aside, I don't have the toolbars in the same location at home as I do at work... keeps me on my toes I guess /:

I just constantly re-organize mine. On a daily basis. Toolbar - Ninja. You never know where it's going to be.

Ok, here are my screenshots, fullscreen and resized. By keeping the smallest toolbars near the upper left corner, I save myself frustration.

Working with 2 screens saves time in many ways - including no need for resizing SU. :D (now that Twilight has the View Tool you don't need to resize the view to know exactly what you will be getting in your rendering.)
So if you can get a second screen and throw your extra pallettes on there, it's much more fun/fast working with SketchUp... I have done so for several years.

But on a laptop for past few months, can say this 'bug' in SU is very big annoyance.
thanks for the screenshots Miguel. ;) good idea.
