Rendering problem - version 2.11.0 vs. 2.12.15
Rendering problem - version 2.11.0 vs. 2.12.15
Hello, I'm using hobby version of Twilight Render. After upgrade to the latest version on one of my computers my renders look much worse with the same options. Am I missing something? Please see attached images. Any help, please?

That's strange. Yes.
Is the smooth surface inside of a group or component? If not, it must be inside of a group or component in order to render smooth.

Thank you for response. Yes, the surface is inside group.

Are you on Mac?
We just performed a clean install of v.2.12.9 (Windows/Pro/64bit) and imported a car model and rendered, and the smoothed surface is working fine.
Be sure you select all geometry that is not smoothing and set it to smooth in SketchUP, perhaps you have accidentally changed the smooth settings?
Check also the material settings to be sure there's not something strange changed.
Be sure any smoothed geometry is inside of a group or component. SketchUp does not properly report smoothed surfaces to the render engine if they are not within a group or component.

Tes, I'm on Mac. Should have mentioned in first post.
I didn't change any settings. This is exactly the same file rendered in different versions of Twiligt plugin with the same render settings.
Regards

Seeing this same type of behavior. on a Mac , OS X 10.11.6. Have SU2015pro and SU2018pro installed on the computer.
Twilight V 2.12.15 Pro installed on both SU versions.
Noticed the lack of smoothing while trying to sort out some problems that have cropped up with D.O.F. function ( I'll leave that for a separate post ).
Posting two saved images from the Exploration Render window. If you look at the image from SU2015 the edges of the poker chips are smooth as expected. The edges of the chips from SU2018 show an obvious lack of smoothing like the o.p.'s image. Everything in the model is a group or component.

However, in the meantime, because of this and at least 3 other large bugs in the new framework, we will be releasing an option to switch back to the old method. This will enable selected rendering as well as fixing a handful of other items. The new release of TWR should be coming out fairly soon so keep an eye out for it.
