Re: Test renders of new trees...
I like the blue!
I think these are great! The only part I have criticism for is the walkway / path texture seems strange (though it's hard to say since it's at a sharp view angle).

Re: Test renders of new trees...
Yes, Tom, these are lovely. The first image especially
Re: Test renders of new trees...
I prefer the first, simply because it is warmer. I am a little bothered by the one sharp limb on the left that appears to stab toward the house. Maybe rotating that tree would help. I know you are primarily looking at the tree renders, but there is too sharp a border between the background image and the model. Additional trees are needed at the back of the house perhaps. I agree about the walkway. It is raised a bit above the terrain and has a very sharp edge that needs to be roughened up.
Re: Test renders of new trees...
Those trees are AWESOME, Tom! The only thing I noticed was the bark on upper branches of the closest tree (on the left of the first image) is vertical - not aligned with the branch. Of course that would only be a problem for close-ups...Cheers!

Re: Test renders of new trees...
i want these trees! may i request a silver birch? your trees seem very mature, would be nice to have a skinnier young one too.
great work mate, when is the expected release of these?

Re: Test renders of new trees...
Thanks a bunch, Guys...really good to hear! I took several of your suggestions to heart (sorry it took me so long to get back to you: got some contract work, finally!, so a guaranteed paycheck's gotta come first :`) and hope you approve.
dozr...when building them, I didn't expect these trees to work so well in the near foreground, but now I see I must rework many of the lower branches and add some lobes to most of the trunks so they can be used to their full potential. I also do intend to do a good job mapping the bark texture correctly...I am surprised and pleased at how well it works at different scales and especially how nicely it takes a deep bump BTW, since I made it from an internet photo.
oli...still shooting for an end of the month release of the oaks (though Valentine's Day is probably more realistic :`) which will include a couple more mature and 8 or so smaller and immature. Birch types (ovoid leaves) will be a later set...either next or after maples.

Hi Tom, lovely images and those trees look great......just a question though, about the scale of the trees [or is the leaves?]
