Black Treeline Skys?

Post by Stu » Sat Jan 16, 2010 10:39 pm

This has happened a couple of time to me with different models:

Ive been shooting renders with a 'Treeline Sky' and after some successful renders the rendered background turns black..if I try another version [say 07] the same thing happens.....a physical sky renders normally.

I can almost swear I have'nt changed any of the settings but in one model I did add some reflections and bumps just before it happened.

Any ideas?

Thanks

99.9% postitive this is a running out of RAM issue.
only solution is to use lower resolution sky.
(resize a copy of all the skies you like to be 2/3 the size, = much smaller in memory) you may have to insert hi-res sky in post-pro by masking the scene.

Thanks Fletch!.
I cleaned up that model knocking out any geomety, components and reflective surfaces that I dont need for this particular view and its working OK again.
