I could not more highly recommend if you have the means to purchase an 8-core machine... it's simply too fun.
I have very little experience w/ night shots... this has no post pro yet.

Re: Pool Exterior at Night
Very nice render and lightning, Fletch...
But I find the shadows on the wall from the tree looking a bit strange...
As if there's a very bright spot-light behind a tree, which to me seem un-natural...
IMO it makes it appear as if it part day-ime - part night-time...

Re: Pool Exterior at Night
you don't have streetlights in Denmark?
I appreciate the comment! ...if the moonlight was confusing, or it didn't look like a streetlight... then I will shut it off.
here's an update. (before I read the comment)

Re: Pool Exterior at Night
Of course we have street lights in Denmark, just not that bright - i think...
The small light components in the first render seem better than in your last...
The water seem to lack a little life... I can see that it's not completely flat/stagnant - but almost, which makes it appear a little un-natural...
I know that I've exaggerated it in the below animation (hope you don't mind, btw...), but at least I feel that it bring some more life to the scene...

Re: Pool Exterior at Night
actually I have the original night photo I modelled the scene from... and it's not rippling at all... it's glass flat... which seemed un-natural to me
you liked the little light bollards light power output in the first one better than in the second?
I have the orig. pic. of the wall sconces and they are almost perfect in the second image. That was the major change.

Ooohhh... But didn't you like my animation...Fletch wrote:actually I have the original night photo I modelled the scene from... and it's not rippling at all... it's glass flat... which seemed un-natural to me
Most definitely...Fletch wrote:you liked the little light bollards light power output in the first one better than in the second?
They seem to have lost a lot of their power in the second shot...
They're also close to perfect now... I din't mention anything about them... I thought they looked OK in the first, but definitely close to perfect in your second render...Fletch wrote:I have the orig. pic. of the wall sconces and they are almost perfect in the second image. Re: Pool Exterior at Night
I thought the bollards were unnaturally bright... but I can turn them back up.
like the animation idea... I somehow had a feeling you wouldn't be able to resist.
