Hamad International Airport - Qatar

This is the Cedar Room at Qatar International airport, a job that I did few years ago and could not disclose at the time for confidentiality reasons. The ability to provide a realistic visual of the finished product allowed me to win the bidding process. The whole project took around 9 months to complete from design to manufacturing to installation. The process was a management nightmare as Qatar Duty Free and the airport authorities kept changing the specs and the health and safety regulations. It was also a logistic challenge too, as all components were manufactured in Germany and the UK and assembled in situ.
I have posted the initial render and a picture of the finished product that we managed to sneak out at the time. I don't want to blow my own trumpet but I think it is a good example of the power of Twilight. All the modelling, construction drawings and technical documentation was produced with Sketchup and Layout.
