where do you recommend I look for higher quality trees and plants?
the 3D warehouse is your best free bet.
next do a search for "best free 3D plants for sketchup" or similar.
This is how I found these "Free Tropical Trees" they are obj format, so you may need a plugin that can import obj into SketchUp, there are several. Twilight can even use them as referenced external proxy files. Subject: Twilight V2.14.1 FBX imported trees
It takes time to seach the web and find the good ones (if you want free) but over time you can build up a good library.
