Parametric Repeating Tiles
Parametric Repeating Tiles
Anyone else like parametric tiling patterns?
I like this one - based on origami, it was used in a folding structure on a ceiling.

Re: Parametric Repeating Tiles
I have tried a few times but they can be memory hogs.

Re: Parametric Repeating Tiles
I have offered them to my customers but until now, no one ordered it.
Re: Parametric Repeating Tiles
Can you be more specific about what you are offering?
You have offered these parametric acoustical insulating ceiling panels?
Re: Parametric Repeating Tiles
these are the ones that I am offering: https://decora24.de/
I modelled some of them in Sketchup and inserted them in some proposals for customers.

great link, thanks Jo-ke!
Here's a close up with a little work on the paper texture. right-click open in new window for full-res.

Re: Parametric Repeating Tiles
Couldn't bevel it properly in SketchUp, Fredo's roundcorner failed me for the first time ever! So I exported as collada to Blender, beveled it using Speedflow addon for Blender, UV mapped in Blender,
How to import, edit, and export SketchUp to Blender and back again?
Then exported (from Blender) the model as an FBX, then imported that FBX back into Blender (because for some reason SKP collada files imported to Blender are put into some strange container I do not yet understand and that container messes up .obj and .collada export ) then I exported that imported FBX model from Blender as a Collada file type(somehow the FBX clears whatever data is messing up the standard export of the object), imported into SketchUp and rendered in SketchUp with Twilight Render.
Now the paper looks more folded at the creases.
