Ta folks,

I get it mate there needs to be more in the design than just putting a ceiling in and calling it a day.

I just put ceilings in that are simple and see what I get. The texture is a good one and new to me so I thought I would give it a go. Possibly something that only works as an emphasis wall or possibly a render during construction. No idea but hey ho.

Ta mate. Lots of textures to try out there, lots of different bump maps to detail, it's all good fun.

An experiment with framing, possibly better with DOF but I have to remember how, or where to set the DOF.

There is a light reflection ob the floor from the hdri, the hdri is reduced to 50% so why is the reflection full strength?Answers on a postcard please to...........

Keep up the experimenting :^: One question though…. is the reflection on the floor coming from the windows by the door? If so why do the windows look blacked out?

Definitely the window, nowhere for the door to allow light through, solid door. Also, the seat backs cut off the light freak. Just a bit confused how the hdri is reuced so much but the light freak looks to be the full Bronte.

doesn't look like a reflection. looks like sun shining onto the floor through the window.

if you wish me to diagnose the scene more thoroughly, please post link to scene... include HDRi (in render dialog you can export scene as zip, then drop the skippy into the zip file, because the export doesn't include the skippy file.) then share the link to that file.

I agree it is the sun#hdri shining through the window, I am going to run another test to be sure so I'll let you know if I am on the right track.

Smolequestion, if that is the sun shining through the window (and it is so bright in the reflection), why is the window so dark. Shouldn’t we be seeing the light through the window?

That's basically what I was asking but, I am looking at the sun and hdri brightness being seperately treated entities. I have to ensure the setting is as I thought it was.
