A bit inspired by Fletch and Mike’s recent post dealing with caustics. Modeled up this scene for testing. Probably will play with this some more. Lamp has a .png image of the flame with a point light in front. Used an interior.hdr for ambient light. Rendered Easy10. Post pro tone mapping in Affinity.

Thanks guys..l. The more I look at the darn thing, I think I got it a little too bright :! , Might take the original render back into Affinity for another spin… :totgm:

Mike, might not be the “correct” way of doing things but it works for me…..
I used the Copper Metal template, plug in my bump map and reflection/specular map and drop down the shine a little. I got the texture from the Texture.com site. :^:

More experimenting…. Lowered the power of the .hdr…. Got a bit more ambiance I think 🤔… Better than the first image ? Guess that’s for someone else to decide :!

IMO the first one is best. IMO the 2nd is a little too dark.

ntxdave, Fletch… I appreciate your comments. This was an interesting exercise in a strange sort of way. Found it a bit surprising how much the clarity of the glass was affected by the strength of the ambient light from the .hdr . :! :^:
