Show Your Bottles

Post by tuna57 » Fri Jan 13, 2023 2:02 am

Inspired by Mike’s post to get back to experimenting with brown beer bottle glass I think I came up with a decent material set up.
Earlier tries ended up with the bottles being to transparent and the color not looking right. Found a good base color for the bottles after some internet searching. After numerous experiments ended up with the following material setups.
Brown Bottle - Deep Material-Translucent-Glass/green absorption
Dark Beer - Deep Material-Translucent-Coke
Adjusted the various color settings to coincide with the base materials. Took a little tweaking to get the result I was after. Think I got pretty darn close to the right look…now to figure out putting condensation on the darn things.
Let’s see what some of you other Twilight user have come up with. :hat:

Very sharp. :hat: Trying to use normal map for condensation which I will post in the other bottle thread.

Thanks Mike. Already have a couple of normal maps to experiment with. Find it interesting everyone expects condensation on a bottle even though it isn’t always apparent. :^:

Not a case of expectiing it but I would l;ike to be able to show that on occasion. Old Engine Oil is definitely better room temperature........

Mike don’t get me wrong, it’ll be cool to work out getting the condensation looking proper. Was just a general comment about about peoples expectations…. :^:

Well good bad or indifferent, my first stab at “water drops” on the bottle. Quickie render and no post pro.
