Create 360 Panorama
Create 360 Panorama
Can some share how to create a 360 panorama with Twilight Render. I seem to remember someone (jo-ke I think) mentioning it not to long ago but I can not find the thread.
Re: Create 360 Panorama
I thought that this question looked familiar.

Re: Create 360 Panorama
Fletch when I go to your Spherical Image - A Day at the Natural History Museum link I see the link to 2 different images but when I click on one of them, I get an Error 1101 message and I cannot view your example. Has something changed or am I having some type of problem?
Re: Create 360 Panorama
That was hosted on a website that is no longer in use.
You can try the Facebook spherical image.

Re: Create 360 Panorama
I do not have Facebook.
When I tried to go that page before, it wanted to log in before it would take me to the image.

Re: Create 360 Panorama
OK, I just tried again (on my laptop) and this time I could view it. I will have to go through the learning process now.
Is it possible to view multiple rooms in a model with this tool? If not, is there a way to produce walk throughs of TR rendered models?

Re: Create 360 Panorama
a 360 Pano is a dynamically displayed image - that is, that the part of the image displayed and the projection maths used to display it are constantly updated while you navigate the image. It's not like a standard still image in any way.
In order to display a navigable spherical image, it must be posted to a web page that has some sort of program embedded that can display it. So one must load it into a page that has a web display plugin of some kind that is appropriate to show it on the web. That function is not available in a phpbb3 forum such as the one we are using here to communicate.
Now, whatever you need to do in order to display it is up to you. Facebook was the easy answer. I bought a wonderful program called 3DVista that allows you to create the code for a web page that will display the spherical image. It lets you create a virtual tour with multiple spherical images. It writes the code to a file that you can upload to your web server and display the page.
If you have a website on Squarespace or WIX they may already have a plugin you can add to the page that can display the image.
A quick web search for the term "360 pano viewer" resulted in some free programs you can download or some websites that allow you to upload the image to view it.

Re: Create 360 Panorama
Thanks Fletch…those are some interesting links.
I would be doing this just for my own interest/education. I like to learn about this stuff just to understand how it works/is done. I am now in a position where I am a hobbyist.

In case someone finds this thread via web search, and are interested in other possibilities with 360 panos...
360 pano in a powerpoint?
not simple.
create a Screencast of yourself moving around a 360 pano and then save the short video, convert it to a format PowerPoint can read and add it to the slideshow.
