for exteriors, hide all unseen geometry, turn off all lights and emitters, render with Easy 08 and physical sky, use fastforward denoise for fast and high quality results.

here I've created the soffit strip light and the shelf led lights using series of tiny spots.
rendered on Easy 02 low it renders in just over 9 minutes.

different view using emitters in the windows as I mentioned earlier. This is 2.5 minute rendering on Easy 09 with Fastforward denoise.

one version combines invisible emitters and leaving the sun enabled, the other version with invisible emitters and disabled sun.

The room on the left is actually a screened porch. I used glass for the screens, but is there a better option?

There's a screen texture in sketchup.
Materials>Landscape, Fencing, and Veg>fencing construction
then desaturate the color of the material using the SketchUp color adjustments in the SketchUp material editor, obviously then resize to look like bug screen.
Still, that doesn't change the approach to lighting the space. I would put the light emitter surfaces half a centimeter (1/4") inside of the surfaces with the screen material.

The screen is subtle, but here is what it looks like. (I didn't put screen in the gable, only the bottom row of glass.)

remember - if you plan to render with Easy 09 then strip lights using light emitters is all you need, not a series of tiny spot lights.
