Re: Free seamless textures
displacement is same as bump, only displacement actually modifies geometry in a render engine that supports it. In Twilight, we don't have displacement, but it works fine in Bump slot.
normal maps must be loaded using Kerkythea's advanced material editor... there's a slot for Normal Maps, then you can load that library into Twilight Render.
So for these, you may want to
normal maps must be loaded using Kerkythea's advanced material editor... there's a slot for Normal Maps, then you can load that library into Twilight Render.
So for these, you may want to
- create a simple scene with just a bunch of faces in SketchUp,
- apply each material WITH A UNIQUE DESCRIPTIVE NAME for each material
- make sure images are scaled correctly,
- apply the material template you desire
- apply the bump map (displacement)
- then export the whole scene as .xml
- open in Kerkythea
- open material editor
- add normal map in normal map slot for each material
- select all materials, right-click>send to library
- click save button and give library a name.... this will save them all together as a single material library
- in Twilight, point your options to find that library, or copy the finished library folder into the Twilight materials directory.
- close/reopen sketchup.
- go back to original SketchUp scene you started with
- apply the appropriate Library material to appropriate face with a texture on it.
- save the file.

Free seamless wooden floor textures 1024x1024 with maps from Europlac here: http://www.polantis.com/Europlac. You have to go through the registration process and then use the "Add to selection" button in order to finally download the full resolution images.

So, there is no hope for normal map support in a future release?Fletch wrote: normal maps must be loaded using Kerkythea's advanced material editor... there's a slot for Normal Maps, then you can load that library into Twilight Render.

yes, it is supported now, and in future, will have an easy way to load from within Twilight.
