ThomThom released an early, experimental version of his UV Toolkit ("2").
As some of you know, I am obsessed with arches, so I immediately tried to apply it on some bent shapes and came up with this tutorial over SCF.
Now the beauty of the plugin (which would not necessarily be expectable) is that the UV mapping achieved with the plugin is perfectly maintained using Twilight (and Thea as well) - see the render tests somewhere at the bottom of the tutorial.

You beat me to it... I was just about to announce this plugin myself.
He actually has 2 or 3 UV / Materials plugins that are very useful.
The VERY cool part of the plugin is that you can copy the mapping of one face and apply it to another face, as long as it's a quad face it will keep the mapping, even if the quad is of a different ratio. It would have REALLY helped with mapping the diamond bumps around these columns.
Actually just the "map to quad faces" possibly would have helped, had I remembered I had it.

Yeah, but with the former version it was still impossible to map something like this on a curving arch itself (and how beautifully it renders!). Certainly a cylinder can also be tricky but when it came to bending it, we have been stumped till now.

Welcome, Marcus.
I only mentioned it here as well because there are so few really useful UV mapping tools (including plugins) for SU and since this one works like charm in Twilight as well, it can be very useful for all users (especially if the do not visit SCF so often).

Very creepy! Good texturing though.Fletch wrote:For those curious what Gaieus looks like in real life, I found this photo here
