I'm new to Twilight and my first impressions are that it is a fantastic tool for producing photo like renders and the best I've seen yet!
I am however having a little difficulty understanding how the textures work ready for rendering. I have become stuck on a section of my model where I want to get the appliances to reflect like glass (as in the attached photo). I somehow have achieved this with the warming drawer under the first (shorter) oven but can't seem to do it for the 2 main ovens.
Can someone give me some guide lines as I have made a few mistakes and had some interesting results that I didn't expect from other areas within my models.
Thanks
Dan
Rendering Textures
Re: Rendering Textures
If they are "Images" inserted into the .skp model, they need to be exploded.
If they are a material, you can apply the Material Template "Shiny Plastic" and set reflection shininess to 100000 (with 5 zeros).
If you want a glossy acrylic you can download a great material library. But that won't work for the stove, as you will lose the image. You can find it in the Resources Master List.
I will look at the .skp file soon.
Re: Rendering Textures
Thanks for your quick response Fletch
I had already exploded the model but having been back this morning and had another look it seems as though there was a group within a group within another group and I was obviously not exploding it enough times.
Now having done what you suggested IT'S WORKED
Thanks for your help..... I'm off to read some lighting topics as this is certainly an area I'm failing on.

Re: Rendering Textures
Good to hear it's working now.
Of course, if you really want the highest quality/best looking you will need to model the stove.

Re: Rendering Textures
Hi Fletch
I pulled the model from the SU warehouse. It's not 100% but it's good enough as it is right at the back of my final render.
Thanks for your advice. I love Twilight already and it's only been a few days.
