My first Twilight renders

Post by Rohganthompson » Wed Apr 17, 2013 12:30 pm

This is one of my first Twilight renders,
I think it came out well, Few things wrong like the bump on the sofa is too big, the knife block is too high of the worktop, Also don't think there is enough lighting, And a few other things.
Let me know what you think :geek:

The flooring texture might be too rough, also reversing the leather texture would be fine, but the rest of it looks awesome :gj:

Rohgan

Really good first attempt. You already know what needs to be amended. The lighting needs a bit of work but yes Kronox is right the floor has too much bump. For a newbie you've picked it up quickly and as you've only bee using sketchup and twilight for 1 month I'm really impressed :^:

The lamp near the wall appears to be way too strong, my guess is all the lights are too strong. You should adjust the exposure for your image in the Camera tab instead of boosting light power. When lights are too strong, they can result in unrealistic lighting, render artifacts, and excess noise, and/or longer render times.

Keep in mind the color of your lights can be modified from default white, and will look more realistic if chosen correctly for interiors.

What software are you using to reduce the noise?

i took what people said into account i may have missed a few things but this was pretty much the finished image.
@Bernzz : I didn't actually use anything to reduce the noise in this image although i would probably use Neat Image if i was too.
Ray tracing too 100+

You're getting close to reality :) Definetly looks better, the wood flooring is great, ceramics are nice also the glass! Good work :gj:

The last is a gem.
I don't like the dining room mirror reflection of brick & TV. There is nothing in the scene that indicates where it is.
At first it seems to be a work of art. Maybe replace with something less distracting?
Ignore me, I get confused easily.
Nice work.

Last picture looks good. What needs to be fixed? Is too dark glass of wall clocks (set alpha to 1 or 0,1). The clock is too large compared with a refrigerator. Strange reflection of the walls above the kitchen countertop (maybe geometry, wrong orientation). And probably warmer lighting :!

I love the progression from your first render to the latter ones. These are great. I especially like your use of lighting. It really looks like a window pane of light on that sofa. Very photo real. Great job.
