Installing to SketchUp 2014

We've encountered a fair number of users who have had difficulty installing Twilight Render for SketchUp 2014 on Windows. If you are a Mac user, don't worry, this doesn't effect you and you can use the same installation process as previous versions here.

First off, problems usually are the result of installing to the wrong directory. For all previous versions, plugins were installed to a Plugins directory right next to the SketchUp application, ie. C:\Program Files (x86)\SketchUp\SketchUp 2013\Plugins.
This is no longer correct!! In fact, you shouldn't have a SketchUp 2014\Plugins directory at all.

SketchUp 2014 installs plugins to one of two places.
1) C:\Users\your user name\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2014\SketchUp\Plugins
Plugins installed here are only available to you. No one else on your computer can use them.
2) C:\ProgramData\SketchUp\SketchUp 2014\SketchUp\Plugins
Plugins installed here are available to anyone who uses SketchUp 2014 on that computer.

So, that being said, do not install Twilight Render to a Plugins directory in the SketchUp 2014 Program Files directory. It will not load. Plugins don't belong there any longer.

In order to make things easier for Windows users to install Twilight Render, we improved the installer (available on the website).
After you double click to the launch the installer and accept the license terms, you will be presented with an installation location screen.

If you have already installed Twilight Render, the install location by default will show the same places as where you previously installed Twilight Render. If you have not installed Twilight Render before, it should choose the most up to date version of SketchUp that it can find installed on your computer.
At this point, you can easily choose where you want to install Twilight Render by clicking the drop down list under 'Or select a default location for your installed version of SketchUp'. For 2014, obviously you choose 2014.

The installation path changes to the correct location for SketchUp 2014! Click Next, finish the install, and you are done.

Please note: If you have tried to install Twilight Render for SketchUp 2014 and have done it incorrectly, you MUST delete Twilight Render from wherever you installed it first.
