That is great! :lol: I think it's looking/working a lot better!

It might be interesting if you study this glass block and see how it's made, and it may help you create the perfect ice block. I've never attempted such a thing, I'm used to the 'normal' architectural materials... but I'm confident others around here can guide you in this further. I would suggest using the IOR for Ice instead of the IOR for glass. The IOR for ice is going to be near 1.33. You can try this to get the exact number.

Thanks for your comments Fletch,

Indeed, the ice component looking/working a lot better when it's time to render the project (not when you work in SU who it takes much more time than solid wall), but the result of extra work is worth the extra work. :^:

I'll will try something with the glass block when I'll have enough time.

Twilight is a gem and I'm beginning to be a Twilight addict!!!

The next step is to read all the user manual! :shh:

Hi Daniel,

I really like this project and am sure that this year, you will come out with an ever more spectacular pre-visualization of it!

See attached below a (very primitive) flag as a "Face me" component. For the time being, maybe it is still better than nothing:

Well, far from perfect (and the image resolution is also low) but maybe you can make use of the other face me component, too :roll:

The ice looks sooooooooooooo much better. Even if you don't get it 'photoreal' I still think it's an amazing representation. :^: :^: :^: :rspkt:

Here is 3 more renders with some changes on lights colours, new flags (unfortunately, I didn't use Gaieus Canada flag's but our Quebec Carnaval flags :oops: ) and a new texture for the roof (the roofs we will use are built with blue plastic mesh fabric fix on a aluminium structure and we can see through). I have to work a little bit more on this texture and on the light under the stairs, I'm not realy happy for now with this two things.

Next steps:
- Try with other light colours;
- Try to render the castle on the real site where the castle will be built;

Thank for your comment

And finaly, many, many thanks to Miguel (Ecuadorian) for the wonderful ice settings. :^:

It's looking a lot better, Danbou!
Real ice is part SSS and part kind of glassy, but you have a good approximation here.
Did you applied a block texture or did you model the blocks one by one? :shock:
Danbou wrote:I have to work a little bit more on this texture and on the light under the stairs
I think the light under the stairs will shine more if you model the stairs as hollow.

Try this trick so you don't have to render again and again:

If you want full control over how the photo looks, try this:
