would it be possible to add the bump texture on the reverse side of the face and get Twilight to read that UV coordinate?
I rem vaguely something like that being implemented in Skindigo.

First, hi jj! Welcome! Long time, no see!
The UV map matches the UV on the front face. Keeps things simple.
Using "Make Unique Texture" and applying a different bump works for getting the 'look' of an independent UV mapping, or using a mat. with a procedural bump makes the bump independent from the UV map.
Wouldn't painting anything on the back face confuse users?

of coz keep it simple! and yes.. i should imagine it might get confusing if there are loads of doubly textured faces!
