If you unlink the colour, it "breaks" the link for the reflection & bump sections.
Is there no way to reference a material embedded in SKUP, rather than searching for the exported bitmap in the temp file?
Bump mapping a solid color...
Re: Bump mapping a solid color...
If I understand correctly, you want to have a solid color rendered material, but the bump to be attached to the texture material in SU?
Just unlink the Color channel, set to to Solid Color, pick your color.
Then in the Bump channel, click the Link button. That's it. (Assuming you are using 1.1)
If you change the Color channel to Solid Color before you unlink it, it will clear the texture from the SU material. That's because the Color channel is bi-directional. It gets the values from the SU material, and it can change the values of the SU material. (The other channels can to, but only if the Color channel is unlinked; it takes precedence (in 1.1) ). So, if you don't want to effect your SU material, make sure the channel is unlinked before making a change.

Chris,
Thanks for the quick response, problem solved.
After reading Ecuadorian's paragraph in the orginal post again, he does clearly explain this, it must just be my brain cell that couldn't pick it up!
Thanks again,
