Need help to create materials/textures

I need some advice, or a source, for creating materials/textures that I can use in my models and renders that look like the examples in the images below without having to have hundreds of faces in my SU model. Notice that I will need to be able to have both the "face on" and side view materials/textures because they will be used from multiple angles.

Has anyone ever used PixPlant to create materials/textures? If so, would it be good for what I am wanting to create?

honestly that's not a texture, if realism is important to you, that's a model problem. And SU can't model that - you need Blender - which has fur and hair.

but you could possibly make a blurry spinning look texture if you want it to look like it's moving.

Thanks Fletch….. :hat:

I am exploring PixPlant. I am a little optimistic that there might be a possibility for a couple of the brushes but not all of them (the red one and the red and black one). I have modeled the blue ones before but the number of faces is very high.

I will have to explore Blender but I have not used it very much.

Here's my version, it's not photo-realistic, but would look good in the SU model.

Thanks again Fletch…….yes, your textures can probably be used. :^:

I am going to continue exploring PixPlant as it looks like it might be a good tool for developing materials/textures. Suggest you might give it a look as well. You are much better at this stuff than I am. If I do come up with something that I think is worth sharing, I will post it in this thread. :whoot:

OK, what did you use to create the brush? That is exactly what I am wanting (there is sometimes a cylinder inside the brush). :hat:

There is also a version that is solid red.

I should have also asked how you created the textures in your previous post?

I attached the .skp file above, I attached the materials above.
I just took the photo you shared in the o.p. and used the warp tool in photoshop to straighten them out and then used motion blur up-down for the front of the cylinder and then made it seamless (discussed in other threads on this forum and many places on youtube)
and for the side view I took the side view of the brush you shared above and made it a perfect circle and used motion blur>radial blur in photoshop to spin it around.
